An Alaska Marine Charter Service Since 1994 Haida Broadcasting Company Page  Haida Broadcasting CompanyThe Haida Broadcasting Company is NOW being upgraded to Digital Service with new digital broadcasting equipment paid for thru the numerous grants program. It will feature a computerized digital editing and producing digital video feed to the broastcasting equipment and also converts old analog video to digital video signal enhancing clearer video picture as much as three times than before. We will also will video tape via SVHS & DVCAM camcorder. We will start broadcasting in the digital feed as soon as the final stages of the equipment arrives. For the first time, we will be able to sell the all of the broadcasted copy of all the events taped to the buying consumers in DVD (Digital Video Disc) as we will have the capability to mass produced DVD copies. The Haida Channel is an all volunteer operating organization since 1991 which spent many hours of labor intensive production and paid for materials from it's own personal funding until now, The idea was established recently to commercialized The Haida Channel for the purpose of fund raising for to purchase more materials & broadcasting equipment thru seeking outside commercial sponsorship of broadcasting of The Haida Channel by inserting a local television commercials & selling DVD's to the buying consumers. The funds collected will simply be used to pay for the travel & expenses to taped the events outside the Prince Of Wales Island such as: The All Native Basketball Tournament, Hydaburg High School Sporting Events, and other events related to The Haida Channel Programs. The Haida Channel is the home of the Hydaburg Warriors Basketball team, and also The Huskies Basketball team, The Haida Channel started airing the local events in the Fall of 1990's with many taped events of Hydaburg High School and Junior High sporting events dating back in 1986 thru 2005, the most popular shows are the Basketball games. The Haida Channel also taped the local community meeting that concern the community and also taped the outdoor activity such as Hunting trip, fishing trip and scuba diving trips. Some of the new cable television shows are in the works for 2005-2006 are: The Haida Explorer (Television Magazine Show) It is a half hour television show about The Haida Tribes, the interviews of the existing elders, and residents about the history of Hydaburg, the lifestyle, livelihood, and the Haida tribes history starring the host (Not named yet.) The Haida Explorer also explores interesting views of Hydaburg and the surroundings of The Prince Of Wales Island. Also do a profiles and interviews about the people and the island. (Broadcasting date to be announced yet as production is now under way.) Not yet named at this time (Television Hunting and Fishing Shows) It is a half hour television shows starring the host (Not Named Yet) entertaining the viewers with local sport-fishing and hunting shows on safety tips, and tips on how to be a better fisher-person, hunter, and even boat operator. More interesting information about Hydaburg, the surroundings and the islands. Also Fish and game culinary entertainment and cooking tips. Not Yet Named at this time (Native American Music Video Show) It is a 2-4-6 hours of Music Video shows made by Native Americans and Native Canadian that are national music artist. It is very similiar to the "Night-Track" broadcast on Turner Broadcasting Service (TBS) in the past. (Broadcasting date to be announced yet) More improvement on The Haida Channel regular shows for this year are: A. More new Local School Sporting events. B. Taped local Church programs. C.
